How Will You Reach Your Audience?

Marketing experts encourage writers to define their brand.

  • What’s your genre?
  • Who’s your audience?
  • What makes your writing unique?

Have an author website.

  • Make it yourself with WordPress, Wix or the provider of your choice.
  • Have a professional put it together.
  • Look at author websites to get ideas.

Encourage friends, family, peers, colleagues, and your writing group to tell others about your book.

  • At club meetings
  • At work
  • Through social media

Find places to do a book signing.

  • Libraries
  • Indie bookstores
  • Local author events

Remember Tupperware parties?

  • You have copies of your book
  • You bring the refreshments
  • Consider giving away an older book out of your personal library with each sale. You’ll be making space for new work in your life 

Remember guest speakers in classes?

  • Find the teachers of classes that can relate to your That goes back to knowing your audience.
  • Ask if they’d be open to a guest speaker.
  • Offer a free book for them or their school library.
