Writing Prompts for October
Is there magic in autumn? Or any other season? Is there something scary inside a house in your town? Or a piano that plays on its own? Or AI chat?
Write about it. Make it an observation or a warning from a parent, teacher, or grandparent. Or tell the story from the POV of the house or any other object.

Tell the story that either picture brings to mind. Who is looking, what does the picture suggest to her/him, and why does it matter? Is anything magic or scary for the viewer? How does s/he handle it?

Here are five sentence starts. Although October brought them up, they can be the start of a piece on many subjects. Write a letter. Draft a poem. Create a flash story or a longer one. Write a mini-memoir. Or write what’s in your heart.
As the weather turns…
After the kids went back to school…
Watching the leaves flutter in the wind…
Football makes me…
Because I was determined to beat the storm…
